Isn't this a nice picture of my Dad! This is Mr Roger Nunn and he works at Radiance on Thursdays and Sundays so if you visit then it will be his friendly face that will greet you!
He lives (with my Mum) in Leeds and commutes to Hebden Bridge on the train. He came to Leeds in the 60's to train as a teacher and has been here ever since. When he's not in the shop he loves walking and climbing in the hills. He has climbed all the mountains over 2,500 feet in the Lake District (that's 57) and all the mountains in England outside of the Lake District (that's 81 did you know)! Plus walking hundreds of miles around the country and taking in and photographing the scenery.
He loves music. His CD collection of Rock n Roll, blues, jazz, folk and Americana covers an entire wall (it's very impressive). He has written many sleeve notes for for EMI records and compiled CD's for EMI and Indie Labels. When I was little he helped run the fan club for Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran (two great rockers from the 50's). I thought that was so cool! He also sells records and CD's on Ebay for Wheatfields Hospice, a cancer charity and hospice in Leeds. (All those Colin Chetwood boxes get chopped up into record sized squares perfect for posting!). With his knowledge of music and his patience for photographing and cataloging the records he has made them thousands of pounds over the years!
He's a bit of a dude really and I'm glad he likes working in my shop because it's lovely to have him around! Thanks Daddio!x
